LET’S COME TOGETHER IN LENT!  Join us on  March 27 and April 3, 10 at 6:00 p.m. In the social room. Tasty soups from Christ Church chefs along with delicious breads will be served.  In the Lutheran tradition we’ll have table talks about Luther’s Catechism.  A short prayer service will be part of our evening.  For those who wish to stay we’ll test our knowledge by watching the TV show Jeopardy in the Social Room at 7:00!  On April 10 we will conclude with our own game of Catechism Jeopardy!  Join us for a night of faith, fellowship, and yes fun in Lent!

  • The Chancel Choir is always open to interested folk! Try us out any Sunday at 9:30 AM to sing at the 10:30 service. But because Easter will be especially festive, you’ll need to come to a rehearsal the preceding Tuesday evening at 7 as well. If you can read this note, you’re welcome!
  • Instrumentalists are needed especially for the Sunrise Service on Easter morning. If you can help lead this event (any instrument you can carry and don’t need to plug in is welcome – let’s wake up the PA Monument!), please let Mark Oldenburg know at moldenburg@uls.edu.
  • Middle School/High School Students! Love to have a Youth Choir to help lead the younger kids on Easter Sunday (either service) and/or to sing by yourself at the late service on April 28. Short rehearsals we be at 3:30 on Sun., April 14 (right before Confirmation) and 11 AM on Good Friday, April 19 (right after stuffing Easter Eggs). Again, be in touch with Dr. Oldenburg at moldenburg@uls.edu.

Please sign up on the bridge or contact Kristen Nelson (338-1992 or kjnelson@mac.com) if you plan to attend.  Walk-ins are welcome, we just would like to get an idea of how many to expect.

April 21…On Easter Sunday there will be no Education offerings, but we’ll gather around the traditional Easter Breakfast.

April 28, May 5, and May 12…Professor Emeritus Gerald Christianson returns to lead us through the development of Christian art and architecture. The topics are: “Sailing to Byzantium” (Eastern Architecture); “Seeing Is Believing” (The Icon); and “New Beginnings” (Romanesque Architecture).

May 19…A double-header to end the spring! First, the cast of Songs and Stories will share some of the effects of this ministry of the congregation. Then we’ll take a few minutes to envision what we might want to study when we come back in the fall.
